Bible Truth

 

I felt it wise to first establish the true doctrines which the Word of God teaches, to help you discern the false doctrines that the cults teach

 

 

Ø   True teaching – In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth(Genesis 1:1)

Ø   True teaching – Thou shalt worship the Lord thy God, and him only shalt thou serve(Matthew 4:10)

Ø   True teaching – For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man, Christ Jesus.(1rst Timothy 2:5)

Ø   True teaching – God was manifest in the flesh, justified in the Spirit, seen of angels, preached unto the nations, believed on in the world, received up into glory (1rst Timothy 3:16)

Ø   True teaching – And declared to be the Son of God with power, according to the spirit of holiness, by the ressurrection from the dead (Romans 1:4)

Ø   True teaching – When the comforter is come, whom I will send unto you from the Father, even the spirit of truth…he shall tedtify of me (John 15:26)

Ø   True teaching – There is none righteous, no, not one (Romans 3:10)

Ø   True teaching – We have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of sins (Ephesians 1:7)

Ø   True teaching – For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves, it is the gift of God- not of works, lest any man should boast(Ephesians 2:8-9)

Ø   True teaching – And as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment(Hebrews 9:27)

Benny Hinn

     

Ø   False claim- Benny Hinn claimed to raise someone from the dead when on a revival in Africa, then on the Larry King show, when asked, he modified it and said he had only heard of someone being raised from the dead.( The Larry King Show, Interview with Benny Hinn)

Ø   False claim – Benny Hinn presented a claim to CRI that he had healed a man of colon cancer, but review of the medical records showed that the colon tumor in question had been surgically removed.(“Christianity in Crisis”, p.34)

Ø   False prophecy-several years before 1995, Benny Hinn claimed that God would destroy all homosexuals by fire from heaven in 1995, when it didn’t happen, Benny Hinn never mentioned it again(refer to Christian Research Institutes audio archives, Benny Hinns false prophecy of the destruction of homosexuals in 1995, contact CRI)

Ø   False teaching – Benny Hinn taught that he was getting revelation that the trinity was really nine gods, because the Father , Son, and Holy Spirit were each trinities too!(Benny Hinn program on TBN,10/3/90)

Ø   False teaching- Benny Hinn taught that originally women were created        to give birth out of their sides.(Our position in Christ #5-An heir of God,audiotape #A031190-5,side 2)

Ø   False teaching – Benny Hinn said ‘I am a little messiah walking on earth’(Praise a thon program on TBN,11/6/90)

Ø   False teaching – Adam was a super being who could fly to the moon(Praise the Lord program on TBN, 12/26/91)

Ø   False teaching - Benny Hinn teaches that if you believe in anything, you will magically make it happen, for this is a law that even witches use.(Praise the Lord program, TBN 6/1/89)

Ø   False teaching – Benny Hinn added a word to a scripture in order to support his faith formula, instead of ‘the Lord giveth, and the Lord taketh away’, he said it says, ‘the Lord giveth and the Lord never taketh away.’(program on TBN 11/3/90)

Christian Science

 

Ø    False teaching -  Christian Science teaches that the Trinity suggests polytheism(Science and Health 256:9-11)

Ø   False teaching - if Jesus had never been, it would make no difference(First Church of Christian Scientist pp.318-319)

Ø   False teaching - the Holy Ghost is divine science (Science and health 588:78)

Ø   False teaching - Man is incapable of sin (Science and health 475:28)

Ø   False teaching - One sacrifice is insufficient to pay the debt of sin (Science and health 23:3-4)

Ø   False teaching - No final judgment awaits mortals (Science and health 291:28ff)

Eastern Mysticism

 

 

 

Ø    False teaching - God is all there is. All visible objects are but modifications of self existence, of an unconscious and impersonal essence which is called God.

Ø    False teaching -“I don’t think Christ ever suffered or Christ could suffer”(Maharishi Mahesh Yogi, p.123)

Ø    False teaching - Devotion centers on the god Krishna

Ø    False teaching - The “Masters” are considered to be realized expressions of divinity, and as such, are worshipped

Ø    False teaching -“Be still and know that you are God, and when you know that you are God you will begin to live Godhood…”(Meditations of Maharishi, p.178)

Ø    False teaching - Heaven and hell are not accepted concepts

Jehovah’s Witness

 

 

Ø    False teaching - Jesus did not die for sin (from “Let God be True”, p116)

Ø    False teaching - The doctrine of a burning hell…cannot be true(LGBT, p.99)

Ø    False teaching – Satan is the originator of the trinity doctrine (LGBT, p.101)

Ø    False teaching - Michael the archangel is no other than the only begotten Son of God, now Jesus Christ(New heavens and New Earth,p.30)

Ø    False teaching – Christ was not raised in flesh, but with a spiritual body(Make Sure of All Things, p.426)

Mormonism

 

 

Ø    False teaching – God was once a child and a mortal like ourselves.(Gospel Doctrine p.64, Articles of Faith, p.529, Journal of Discourses 1:123)

Ø    False teaching – Every man who reigns in celestial glory is a god to his dominions(Mormon Doctrine, p.322)

Ø    False teaching – The doctrine of a plurality of Gods is prominent in the Bible(Teaching of the prophet Joseph Smith, p.370)

Ø    False teaching – Adam fell that men might be, and men are, that they might have joy(II Nephi 2:25)

Ø    False teaching – Baptism by proxy is a major activity(Plan of Salvation, p.8)

New Age

 

 

Ø   False teaching – A multitude of pagan gods are worshipped, the sky god, the earth goddess( this violates Deuteronomy 6:13,14 ‘Thou shalt fear the Lord thy God and serve Him…Ye shall not go after other gods.’)

Ø   False practices – They practice divination, magic, and spiritism(which is disobedient to Gods instructions in Deuteronomy 18:9-14)

Ø   False teaching – there is no right or wrong, these evolve according to cultural needs

Ø   False belief  – almost all New Agers adhere to the ancient Hindu doctrine of reincarnation(This disagrees with Hebrews 9:27 ‘ it is appointed unto men once to die.’)

Ø   False belief – almost all New Agers adhere to the ancient Hindu doctrine of Karma (a merciless impersonal law in the universe, from which God does not give mercy)

Ø   False teaching – Avatars, or ‘god men’ will usher in a new age

Ø   False practices – Any teaching or technique that facilitates experience is welcome (Meditation, chanting, ecstatic dancing, sensory deprivation)

Ø   False teaching – Man never had a fall(Childs, Whatever is, is right)

Ø   False teaching – Salvation by atonement is a delusion( Ethics of Spiritualism, p.99)

Ø   False teaching – Hell does not exist and never will (The New Revelation)

Ø   False teaching – the divinity of Christ is denied(Spiritualistic Hymnal)

Ø   False teaching – Christ himself was nothing more than a medium of high order (Spiritual Telegraph #37)

Ø   False teaching – The Holy Spirit from God is the spirit of some holy person who has once been in the flesh (Hastings, p.91)

Ø   False teaching – God and man are one ( see Christianity in crisis, p.9)

Ø   False teaching – As a man, Jesus was no different from us except for the fact that he was without original sin (Divine Principle, p.212)

Ø   False teaching – The Holy Spirit is a female spirit – (Divine Principle, p. 215)

Ø   False teaching – Marraige is the most important means of establishing God’s kingdom on earth (see Christianity in Crisis, p.25)

Ø   False teaching – Christ will come…as a man in the flesh…through marraige(to)…a woman in the flesh, and they will become the true parents of all mankind.(Declaration of Unification Theological Affirmation)

Ø   False teaching – the Hottentot, the Heathen, he who worships the golden calf, worships God (Lessons in Truth,p.126)

Ø   False teaching – The Krishna of the Hindu is the same as Christos of the Greeks and the Messiah of the Hebrews (The Science of Being, p. 22)

Ø   False teaching – Sin, sickness, poverty, old age, and death are not real…(Lessons in Truth, p. 35)

Ø   False teaching – The error lies in the belief that He was the only begotten Son of God, and that He overcame for us, and that by simply believing in Him we are saved(The Unity Treasure Chest, pp.68-69)
